How do Broomfield seniors get rides to the doctor?
Broomfield's own answer is EasyRide, a door-to-door service run by the city and county's Senior Services for residents over 60 and adults with disabilities. You register first, then book rides up to 21 days ahead and at least three business days before the appointment. Vans run Monday through Friday, with the first drop-off at 8:45 a.m. and the last pick-up at 4:15 p.m. Call 303-464-5534.
EasyRide leaves Broomfield for medical appointments only, and only within set boundaries: Baseline Road between McCaslin Boulevard and Washington Street on the north, and West and East 80th Avenue on the south. Destinations the city names include AdventHealth Avista and St. Anthony North, and the list is not complete, so call if you are unsure about an office.
That boundary is a real factor when you compare Medicare plans. A specialist across the metro may be in network yet out of reach for a van ride. When you list your doctors for a plan review, note which ones EasyRide can reach and which would need another way to get there. A plan that keeps your primary care and lab work inside the boundary saves you from arranging a separate ride every time you need a routine visit.
Is there on-demand transit inside Broomfield?
Yes. RTD FlexRide runs curb-to-curb trips in two Broomfield zones, one covering Broomfield and one covering Interlocken and Westmoor, and connects riders to RTD bus and rail at stations and Park-n-Rides, plus shopping, recreation centers and libraries. The Broomfield zone runs weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the Interlocken and Westmoor zone runs weekdays only.
The city lists FlexRide as free in Broomfield through June, July and August, with a $2.75 adult fare the rest of the year. For trips beyond the zone, FlexRide can carry you to a station where a bus or train continues on.
If you rely on FlexRide and EasyRide together, a plan whose primary care doctors and labs sit inside Broomfield will be far easier to use than one built around clinics across the metro. Ask for the addresses of in-network offices, not only the names, when you compare plans.
What happens at the Broomfield Community Center for older adults?
Senior Services works out of the Broomfield Community Center at 280 Spader Way, main line 303-464-5526. The city's fall 2026 Senior Resources Guide lists a weekday lunch at the center (reserve by 4 p.m. the business day before), Meals on Wheels delivering hot meals Monday through Friday to residents 60 and older with income-based help available (303-464-5532), and Active Adult recreation for adults 55 and older with fitness classes, walking groups and trips.
The guide also notes that fitness programs offered through some Medicare plans give members free classes and facility access at the center, with new member meetings held monthly. If you expect to use the center, ask whether a plan you are considering includes a fitness benefit it accepts.
Original Medicare does not cover hearing aids or the exams to fit them, and some Medicare Advantage plans add hearing, vision or dental benefits. If you use the hearing clinic or expect to need aids, weigh that extra benefit when you compare plans, and check the fine print on how much it pays. Lisa can walk through those details by phone or video.
Health services held at the center include:
- Hearing clinics, including free hearing screenings and device checks
- Medical foot care clinics
- A loan closet with walkers, wheelchairs, canes and crutches on short-term loan
- Monthly workshops on topics such as Social Security and aging in place

Broomfield is a consolidated city and county: the City and County of Broomfield covers the same area, so the city and county Census figures are identical.
Colorado totals are the sum of all 64 Colorado counties in the same Census release; a statewide median is not computed here. Survey estimates for small towns carry wide margins of error.

How the figures are derived
- Headline plan counts and averages exclude Special Needs Plans, which have their own eligibility rules and are reported separately.
- "$0 Part C premium" counts plans whose Part C premium is $0. "$0 combined monthly premium for Parts C and D" counts plans whose consolidated Part C + D premium is $0 (for a plan without drug coverage, its Part C premium); our guides and blog use this second count. Out-of-pocket limits are in-network amounts. The average Part D deductible covers plans with drug coverage only.
- The 2026 to 2027 comparison counts Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage, Special Needs Plans included, and its "$0" row uses the combined Part C + D premium, so it differs from the headline count.
- When the CMS crosswalk ends a plan with no successor but the same company files a plan with the same or a similar name under a new plan ID, we say so; members are not moved into the new ID automatically.
- We do not publish per-plan enrollment: the source does not carry it, and we never estimate plan figures.
